Botanical Garden is more of a open-space park. It is also called waterfall because there is a water fall somewhere in the middle of the hill. There is a dam there too. Many people prefer to come here for walks because the walking area is bigger and there are tar roads. The first row photos show the entrance or staring point. The road is going uphill. This guide follow the left side road at all the roads splits / intersections to make a big circle back to the starting point. The right second row photo shows a way up the mid-Penang Hill point called 46. Many people like to take this way up to that point. The left third row photo shows a way down to the river passing through 'Japanese Garden'. A little further up from this place is Waterfall dam. It is just a small dam (see right third row). There is another road split at the right end side of the dam (see left forth row photo) which can lead to the dam for authorised personnel. There are trees (left side are higher ground throughout the whole walk) along the left side split. The later part along this section, the slope is going down hill (all the way back to starting point). Before the junction on the right forth row photo, there is a cactus area on the right and some walk-way on the left. The left fifth row photo shows another junction just a few meters away from the right forth row photo. On the way back toward the starting point, there are 2 more 'jungle roads' on the left and on the right, there is a 'Mini Penang Bridge'. Lastly, the entrance is FREE and it is open to all. Parking space is limited but there are more car parks along the way from Penang Municipal Park / Youth Park out-entrance towards Botanical Garden. You can always walk in from there. The air along that stretch is very cooling and fresh. Lastly, kindly "Keep Penang Clean". Opening time is hrs and closing time is hrs. Entrance fee is RM (year 2013 price).
