KL Tower, Malaysia is located in Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, Kuala Lumpur, standing on Bukit Nanas which has a height of 94m. The building was built in 1992 with the purpose of making it communication tower. It was completed when Dr Mahathir Mohamad performed the installation ceremony of the antenna mast (for transmission) on the top of the building on 13-Sep-1994. However, it was officially opened to public only in 1996.

KL Tower is the tallest telecommunication tower in South East Asia. The height of the tower is 421 m and weights 100,000 tonnes. It is the 5th tallest in the world after CN Tower in Canada, Ostankino Tower in Russia, Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai, Borj-e Milad in Iran.

The facilities it has are 22 levels with 4 elevators, 2158 steps of stairs, 146 m pedestrian mall with cascading pools, F1 Simulator, mini theatre, cultural and light shows, shops and offices. The foundation base has 3 basement floors for safety storage and maintenance work.

The 'Head' of the Tower has 6 storeys. The public observation platform is on level 1 of the head at about 276 m above ground. Visitors can eat at Seri Angkasa Revolving Restaurant at Level 2 head. Telekom's microwave station is at level 3. The telecommunicating station is at level 4 and broadcasting station is at level 6. The stations design were designed using Muqarnah Islamic design drawn by Isafahan from Iran.

Managed by Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd a subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia. Previously, there was a Jelutong (Dyera costulata) tree, a monument tree just outside KL Tower and was said to had blocked its 'feng shui'. So, they spent about RM430,000 to move the tower to avoid harming the tree.
