KDE has a customable panel though it is far from good compared to Gnome before v3. This is a very important feature for a desktop because users definitely like to be able to put their important things on places that they like.

The older version of Gnome, before version 3, is still my favourite desktop on Linux operating system. Now, KDE has added optional system indicators which I like having, I have begun to like KDE desktop.

KDE has a very few disadvantage. In short, I like this desktop environment now. As I have mentioned in Gnome desktop environment, one of the most important feature is the number of softwares that are bundled with it. If a desktop software has more programs written for it, like KDE, more people will want to use it.
