Indians in Penang, Malaysia celebrate the fire-walking ceremony in the month of July. The preparation and prayer for this event start a week before the fire-walking ceremony. The devotees will have to go on a vegetarian diet for at least week before the occasion.

On the fire-walking day itself, some devotees will bring milk, walk 3 rounds around the coal-fire area. Then they will pour the milk at the side of the coal-fire area. Some devotees who want walk across the coal-fire area, will have to wait in a row for the god to reach the fire-walking area.

As I know very little about this occasion, I don't really know the god's name for this occasion but I think it is Lord Siva because of the 'spear' that he is holding as shown in the top right photo. The photos for this occasion shown here were taken in Gelugor, along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah.
