Year 2007, Penang state had a Christmas open house on the 16th Dec at Fort Cornwallis. This was organised by a few churches. Some performances were shown before and after the arrival of guest of honour. After arrival of important guest, food were served. Many people were grouping at the serving tables before the food was being served. The food was rather good. They had chinese food and muslim food. The people there were mostly of chinese and indian race. It was a 'muhibbah' celebration for people of different religion. However, very few Malays attended because Muslims are not allowed to join or attend other religions' celebration. The left first row photo shows the Eden Handicap group performing some somgs. The other photos were taken during the open house. The right second row photo shows a group of Malay performers getting ready, I guess. The other photos not mentioned except the right last row photo were some performances, food available and group of people celebrating the occasion. The right last row photo was a decoration by a shoping complex along Gurney Drive which was taken during New Year 2008. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you. |
