I have 10 fishes in this small tank which consist of a few types of small fishes. One type is Swordtail fish (livebearer), scientific name called Animalia Chordata Actinopterygii Cyprinodontiformes Poeciliidae Xiphophorus hellerii. It seems that there are 2 different colours of swordtail, green and red. However, their scientific names are the same. This is a good fish to rear because it is a hardy fish, colourful (bright orange-red) and easy to have babies. It is a livebearer fish so the female 'delivers' its fries (baby fish). I have 3 of these at present(Dec 2008), 2 female 1 male. I have one female fighting fish (anabantids, bubble nest builder with special gills that can help it breath from air), scientific name called Animalia Chordata Actinopterygii Perciformes Osphronemidae Betta splendens. It is pretty friendly with all the other fishes except its own genus. However, it is still possible to keep another female fighting fish (same size) with it because there is enough space for both of them to hide. I have done that before. As for 'tank cleaners', I have 2 golden chinese algae eater fish, scientific name called Animalia Chordata Actinopterygii Cypriniformes Gyrinocheilidae Gyrinocheilus aymonieri. The species mentioned may be wrong. These 2 algae eater have been with me for about 4 months which is considered good because previously, I have had many and they died in less than a month. There is 1 type of barb fish (I guess cause they look like tiger barb) which I do not know its name yet. I have 4 of that type. As they are barbs, they should be in Cypriniformes Order and Cyprinidae Family. I started to keep this species when my characins died because one of it was given to me by my uncle when he gave me this small tank.
