Penang Little India is the area around a few roads in Georgetown. Those few roads are Lebuh Pasar (Market Street), Lebuh Penang (Penang Street), Lebuh King (King Street) and Lebuh Queen (Queen Street).
This is a busy commercial area for indian traders. Many indian things can be found there like indian movies and songs, indian food, indian prayer things, indian costumes and sundry things. This area is very busy during Deepavali, Thaipusam, and other indian religious season. If you are interested in indian related things and product, this is the best place to visit and have a look. I do not know whether the things here are cheap but I think it should be reasonable. The business time during normal days is like most office time. It should be safe to go between 9am to 5pm. Opening time is hrs and closing time is hrs. Entrance fee is RM (year 2013 price). Lastly, kindly "Keep Penang Clean". |
