Batu Ferringhi is the most famous stretch of beach in Penang. There are many hotels along this stretch where the beach is not rocky. The photos here are shown from town up towards Telok Bahang. The first section is a small stretch of beach which is a little rocky. This first easily accessible beach is just next to the last section of Tanjung Bunga and is accessible from there. You can see a small wall (which can also be seen from Tanjung Bunga photos) in the first row photos. The second row photos were taken by the road side which is much higher than the beach. There is an Indian temple down there. From the photo, you can see people praying. This section is also rocky. Not many come here for picnic because this section is very small. A little further up is Miami Bay beach (see third row photos). This section is popular in Batu Ferringhi among the local people and is open to all. This is because there are food stalls here and a watch tower to watch over the visitors. This section is also a little rocky. The next section is along Batu Ferringhi's famous stretch of shops. The forth row photos show the way into the beach along that section. The photo on the left shows the turning from Jalan Batu Ferringhi into a small road. Inside here, there are motels, rooms to let 'houses' which should be cheap and food stalls. The fifth row photos show the beach along this section which is open to all. This beach along this section is not rocky but quite flat. It is famous among locals and tourists. Parking is a difficult because there is no car park. The last section of this stretch is behind a hotel. The beach here is difficult to access because you have to pass through one hotels to get there. Though it is a public place which is open to all and FREE for all, I think the hotel admin would not be happy seeing too many people waking through their hotel. (See sixth row photos) Oh yes, like all the other places I have mentioned, all the beaches here are FREE of Charge. However, parking is very difficult because the roads are one-lane narrow road.
