Penang Poh Piah (Chinese)
The ingredients of Poh Piah are thinly sliced 'mangkuang' or turnip and carrot and small pieces of fried tauhu or fried bean curd, all mixed together.
The poh piah skin is made from wheat flour batter into very thin round pieces. This 'skin' is then spread with sweet paste, brown prawn paste and chili paste. A piece of salad leaf is then put on top of poh piah 'skin'. The mixture of the above mentioned ingredients is then put onto the leaf and wrapped up.
One roll of poh piah is normally RM1.20 to RM1.50 (year 2013 price) depending on the ingredients put inside the 'wrapper'.
