Penang Nasi Kandar (Indian)
Nasi Kandar stall is mainly a name for a stall selling Indian curry dishes / food. This stall usually sells all kinds of curry dishes - from curry meat to curry vegetables. The meat found in this stall are usually chicken and mutton. If the seller is an Indian Muslim, then beef can also be found. 
However, when people see the stall 'Nasi Kandar', it is usually Indian Muslim stall - meaning beef can be found. Indians like Chinese usually do not take beef unless they are Christians or Muslims. If not mistaken, most Indian Muslim Nasi Kandar stalls put a little 'drug' inside the dish for whatever reason, I don't know. People said that was why customers usually go back to Nasi Kandar stalls for curry. The prices of the dishes (vege and meat) are between RM0.80 to RM2.50 (year 2013 price). |
