Penang Koay Chiap (Chinese)
Koay Chiap is made from rice batter. Unlike hor fun, bihun and koay teow, it is 'wet' type which is more like soft. It is made into layers and broken into smaller peices. I guess the soup is boiled using duck and pork bones, some sauces and herbs for the 'lor' taste.
The ingredients are duck meat (from the soup), pig's small and big intestine, duck blood, tau kua and egg. This dish / food is consider special because it is rarely found. The place to get this is at New Cathay coffee shop in Pulau Tikus area. One bowl is normally RM4.00 (year 2013 price).
