| Penang Roasted Chicken / Duck / Char Siew / Seo Bak Rice (Chinese)
The chicken is roasted after seasoning. Different stalls use different ingredients for seasoning and so the taste may be different from each other. The degree of roasting may be different too. As for the rice, it is cooked with water and the oil. This makes the rice feel smooth and taste good. 
Roasted chicken rice is usually served with bean sprout, cucumber and topped with soy sauce and there own homemade sauce. Most stalls that sell roasted chicken rice also sell char siew or barbecued pork, seo bak or roasted pork. 
The price for a plate of this food is normally RM3.00 to RM3.50 (year 2013 price). |
