Martial Art is more for cultural and sport purposes in Malaysia. The Malays have their Silat, chinese their kungfu, wushu and I don't know what, indians their silambam or something like that.

Some schools have organisation for these groups. Martial arts group will take in people/members regardless of their race. Usually these organisations just take a small subscription/membership fee. This is a good 'muhibah' session.

Companies and some organisation will take higher fees maybe they have 'sifu' from other countries. The 1st five photos were taken during a free presentation organised by MY Martial Art. The lady with the mic is the company's MD. She's from Kuching, Sarawak and came all the way to Penang because she said Penang has more chinese. I guess it is a profit making company and you can visit their website if you want to know about them. I think she should try to sell to Indonesia or Thailand instead (show them the gentler side of martial art, don't have to be so 'wild').

The last 2 photos were taken during Upper Penang Road Sunday Market. The presentations were given by Penang ladies Chin Woo. So for those of you who like to join some sports organistion, keep martial art in mind. I have been thinking of joining Indian martial art organisation one day when I am 'well' after seeing a presentation when I was in Kuala Lumpur. I like their bamboo as weapon self defense because it will not easily hurt people.
