Putra Perdana Park Botanical Park Agriculture Heritage Park Wetland Park Putrajaya Nature Forest Park Wawasan Park
There are a few important parks in Putrajaya. The most popular park is Putra Perdana Park where the entrance is free. It is opened from 7am to 8pm during weekdays and to 10pm during the weekends. This park is located in one of the highest hill in Putrajaya, near to Melawati Palace. A few places of interest in the park are the Perdana Mall which has 11 fountains which will be lit up at night, the Mercu Tanda Plaza at the end of the Perdana Mall, Megaliths, Gardens and for the locals, the jogging pathway.

The Megaliths was dated back to late 18th century and was discovered in 1989 at Kampung Gelanggang. Putra Perdana Park has about 54 species of trees excluding palms, shrubs, ferns and climbers. There are many rest shelters around the jogging treks and pathways.

Botanical Park or Botanical Garden is another popular park in Putrajaya. It is located near Putra Perdanan Park, just a road dividing the two parks. The entrance is free and bicycle can be rented at about RM2/=. It is opened from 9am to 6pm/7pm.

Botanical Park is said to have over 700 species of plants from all over the world. A few things of interest are the 170m Canopy Bridge, the Sundial and the trails for the various types of plants. The various types available are Heliconia, Vine Bougainvillea, Tropical American, Ficus, Pandanus, Canna, Asia-Pacific, Palm, African, Ferns and some others.

Agriculture Heritage Park is in Precinct 16, Putrajaya. The entrance fee is RM2/=. Photographs are not allowed in this park. Photography charge is Rm100/= per hour and filming is RM650/= per hour. The orchard is opened from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

The trail here is easy to walk in the sense that you will not miss any trail. Guides can be hired but appointments must be made a few days earlier. It has both seasinal and non-seasonal fruits planted in Malaysia, commercial plants, herbs and spices.

As photography is not allowed, I copied the names of the plants in there. Some are Ciku, Waterapple, Jackfruit, Betel nut, Cat Eye, Dragon fruit, Amra, Kuini, Coffee, Oil Palm, Tongkat Ali, Screwpine, All spice, Neem, Blackpepper, Citronella, Cinnamon, Cat's Whiskers and Paddy.

Wetland Park is located in the northern part of Putrajaya in Precinct 13. It is opened from 9am to 6pm/7pm. Its main habitats are swamp forest and open-water areas like pond and lakes. As I did not go to this park, I do not want to comment on it.

Putrajaya Nature Forest Park is located in Precinct 15. It is opened from 9am to 6pm/7pm. As I did not go to this park, I do not want to comment on it.

Wawasan Park is the park that is easiest to access. It is located in Precinct 2, around Wisma Putra, behind the Finance Ministry. It has Pebble Beach, pedestrian walkways and jogging tracks surrounded by plants, hibiscus courtyard and amphitheatre. It is opened from 7am to 7pm. I have not gone into the park but I think the entrance is free.
