Taiping Lake Garden is located next to Taiping prison. It was established in 1880 and previously a tin mine. It has an area of about km²

There are a few thing of interest in this Lake Garden. As mentioned earlier, it is Malaysia first recreational garden. It is a place for the locals to go for picnics, walks, jogs and do other exercises.

The trees there grow low and wide with branches touching or almost touching the water in the lake as seen in left second row photo. It has a place where boats can be rented to go around the lake as shown in right second row photo.

One of the main attraction in Taiping Lake Garden is the Taiping Zoo and Taiping Night Safari. I only took a photo of the entrance into the Zoo at night when I was waiting for the ticket booth to open for the Night Safari as seen in left third row photo.

Another reason for entering Taiping Lake Garden is to go to the foot hill of Maxwell Hill as shown in right third row photo. To go up, you need to buy ticket for a place in a jeep that will take you up and down after about 2 hours at the hill top or should I say, almost at the top. The ticket can be booked only for the day at the counter and not any day in advance.
