Blow Pipe Demo Temiar Aborigine Rafflesia Mount Brinchang Farms & orchard
Cameron Highlands is located on the north-western Pahang. It is the most popular agro-tourism place in Malaysia. It is about 1,524 metres above sea level. The weather when I there was very cool in the morning maybe because it was cloudy days. Many Malaysians go there to get fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers.

When I got down at the bus stop which was near an information centre, at one end of the road, I saw a convent church with a school beside it. See first row right photo. Near the convent church, is a near chinese Kau Ong Ia temple, second row left photo. On the other end, there was the bus terminal. A little further after the bus terminal was a library, a small park and a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan (second row right photo). From this temple, a mosque can be seen.

I tried walking back toward Brinchang town which I passed on my way to Tanah Rata. However, I turned back after reaching the Sultan Ahmad Shah Golf Club cause it was getting late. On my way there, I passed by Tanah Rata's Bus Terminal which was not operational yet (I think) and a few hotels /chalets. Bala's Holidays Chalet looked nice and cozy and the popular Smokehouse Hotel near the golf club.

Then I turned back using the Taman Sedia housing area which has a few houses under 'Homestay Program'.

I advise tourists to take tour packages when in Cameron Highlands. I followed Kang Tours & Travel on a full day rainforest adventure tour covering one blow pipe demonstration at Aborigine Village (Temiar) in Gua Musang, Kelantan, jungle trekked into their forest reserve to see the Rafflesia, visit their waterfall, back to Cameron Highlands to visit butterfly and insect farm, BOH Tea Plantation and Factory and finally strawberry farm mostly to eat.

The next morning, I followed TJ Nur Travel & Tour on a half-day Mount Brinchang Adventure tour. This whole tour was in Cameron Highlands. Most tour packages for Cameron Highlands cover BOH Tea Plantation and Factory and Butterfly and Insect Farm including this half-day tour. That day was very cloudy and it drizzle when I was at Mount Brinchang and the Mossy Forest. The tour company gave us a free visit to strawberry farm. So, the tour packages are mostly nature related.

The Butterfly and Insect Farm for the second tour was different from the first tour. The first farm did not mistreated the scorpians. The farm guide even put a scorpian on my palm. The second farm guide was rougher to the scorpians.

In my future visit to Cameron Highlands, I might want to stay in Brinchang. Then, I can vist other places such as honeybee farm, rose centre, cactus valley, wild orchid farm, vegetable farm and watercress farm.

Apart from all these, Cameron Higlands has many well established tracks for those interested in jungle trekking and mountian climbing. Examples are trekking to Robinson Waterfall from JKR Quarters approximately 15 minutes and mountain climbing to Mount Beremban from MARDI approximately 3 hours. Time estimates was taken from a tourist information guide book bought in Cameron Highlands.
