skybridge Suria KLCC Petronas Discovery Centre
Petronas Twin Towers, Malaysia is located in Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) area near Jalan Ampang and Jalan P.Ramlee. It is the tallest twin towers in the world with a height of 451.9 m including its pinnacle. It was built in 1993 and completed in year 1996. Its height up to the roof is 378.6 m. It has 88 floors and the highest floor is 375.0 m from ground. Length of each pinnacle is 73.5 m. Petronas Twin Towers was built to be able to slant up to 1.5 m when there is strong wind and will go back to its normal straight position when the wind is gone. It cost about RM270 million.

Petronas Twin Towers has an Islamic architectural design with 8 points (Rub el Hizb) which means unity, harmony, stability and rationality. To soften the inner edges, small circles were used to remove the edges. It was made of reinforced concrete, steel metal and vision glass that is bullet proof. It was built on the old site of Kuala Lumpur's race track and was built on the world's deepest foundations during its time with a depth of about 117 m. Petronas Twin Towers was design by César Pelli an American Argentinan who is working in the United States. The main contractor of Tower 1 was from Japan and Tower 2 was from South Korea.

Petronas Twin Towers has a double-decked skybridge connecting the two towers at level 41 covering level 42. The supporting beams from the centre of the bridge are connected to level 29 of each tower. The skybridge's height is 170 m from the ground and the skybridge's length is 58.4 m. The Petronas Twin Towers skybridge is the highest 2-storey bridge in the world. Petronas Twin Towers has 29 double-decked lifts by Otis and 10 escalators in each tower. Tower 1 is occupied by Petronas aand its subsidiaries. The two towers are connected at the base by Suria KLCC. Suria KLCC has many retail outlets Petronas Discovery Centre and Petronas Gallery (a contemporary art gallery). The Petronas Philharmonic Hall is situated in Tower 2.

Outside Suria KLCC is a big fountain in the garden park which covers an area of about 50 acres. It was design by Roberto Burle Marx of Brazil and this was his last design before he passed away. A mosque called Asy-Syakirin Mosque is situated about 5 minutes walk from Suria KLCC. Aquaria KLCC (an aquarium) which is believed to be the largest indoor in the world is located at the concourse level of KL Convention Centre which is about 5 minutes walk from Suria KLCC via a tunnel.
