Alor Star is the capital of Kedah State. It can be accessed by road using North-South Highway, turning out at Alor Star Selatan Interchange or by Alor Star Utara Interchange or by rail, stopping at Alor Star Railway Station.

Other places of interest are Albukhary Mosque, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Memorial, Traditional Malay House and Kedah State Museum.

Albukhary Mosque is a very big mosque and has a land area of about 5 acres. This mosque has a graveyard and many building surrounding it in its compound. Some of the buildingds are Albukhary Intenational University, Albukhary Clinic and hostels. It has beautiful motif but most of the features resembles the features or designs of mosques from other countries.

As I have not visited the other sites, I have no comments on them. Lastly, kindly keep Alor Star clean by throwing your rubbish in proper places.
